Difficulty: Strenuous
Trailhead: Logan Canyon for 23 miles to Franklin Basin Road turnoff on the left; follow this dirt road along the Logan River for 3.4 miles to the Steep Hollow treailhead at the left pull-off in an aspen grove.
Elevation Start/Gain: 7280 feet/2595 feet
Route: "This trail offers a good all day hike through a variety of terrain including aspen and fir forests, a beautiful sub-alpine basin, and finally a scramble up to the peak at 9873 feet....
"An alternate return route is to follow the ridge south... to the cirque north of Steam Mill Lake and return via Steam Mill Trail.... Leave a car at the Steam Mill trailhead or take Shorty's Cut-off back to Steep Hollow. [Or] go north on the ridge for about 2 miles and descend Boss or White Canyons down to the Franklin Basin Road. This also requires a car shuttle."
